Daniel Bogen from the University of Pennsylvania invented a device that can help people with low work (short term) memory: suffering from hiper-activity from of Alzheimer's disease or impairment of the brain, announced the magazine "New sayantist.
Apparatus is modeling work of the so-called. "fonological loop" function of the brain, remember that sound small fragments, then reproduce them, thus helping human to remember the necessary information. "Fonological loop" allows, for example, to remind the name of the man. Because it sometimes in our head spinning the same tune.
The memory device is equipped with a speaker, microphone and Management Unit for audio recordings of fragments. Users will simply click a button and say a phrase to be saved. Then the drive begins to repeat it in the set interval of time, thus helping people to remember the necessary information.
Apparatus as recorded messages - from a particular person or other people, and reproduces them with "inner voice". The tests made by a scientist with the help of healthy people have shown that stress situations, the device allows them to better monitor their activities.
Bogen hopes that his invention will help patients with short-term memory disorder. Inventor explains that the apparatus is very simple and easy to use. It is with small dimensions and can be produced by way of telephone or manual clock.
